Three steps to a cash settlement in Indiana.

1

Take the case eligibility quiz

Walk through a few quick questions about your Indiana purchase, your repair history, and your warranty status. We check your facts against Ind. Code § 24-5-13 (Indiana Motor Vehicle Protection Act) and federal MMWA. Two minutes.

2

We demand the manufacturer pay

We file a formal demand citing both Ind. Code § 24-5-13 (Indiana Motor Vehicle Protection Act) and federal MMWA. Most demands resolve in 60–120 days. If the manufacturer ignores or lowballs, we file in N.D. Ind., S.D. Ind. federal courts; 7th Circuit on appeal.

3

Cash in hand

You keep your vehicle. The manufacturer pays you cash for diminished value. We seek to have the manufacturer pay our attorney fees separately under federal warranty law, they don't come out of your settlement.

You keep the car. You keep the cash.

We don't push buybacks or replacements. We pursue cash settlements under Ind. Code § 24-5-13 (Indiana Motor Vehicle Protection Act) and federal MMWA. You stay in your vehicle. We get a check from the manufacturer. That's it.

Indiana lemon law FAQs

Real questions Indiana consumers ask. Plain English answers.

Does the Indiana lemon law cover used vehicles?+

Ind. Code § 24-5-13 (Indiana Motor Vehicle Protection Act) primarily covers new vehicles. The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (MMWA) frequently extends to used vehicles that came with any written warranty, manufacturer remaining warranty, certified pre-owned warranty, or a dealer's used-car warranty. We evaluate whether your case fits state law, federal MMWA, or both.

How many repair attempts does Indiana require?+

Indiana's statutory presumption: 4 repair attempts OR 30 days out of service in first 18 months / 18,000 miles. Federal MMWA does not set a fixed number, it requires a 'reasonable opportunity' for the manufacturer to repair, which is fact-specific.

Do I have to arbitrate before suing in Indiana?+

Indiana arbitration rules: Manufacturer-sponsored arbitration may be required. Federal MMWA claims generally do NOT require manufacturer-sponsored arbitration as a prerequisite to suit.

Who pays my attorney fees in a Indiana lemon law case?+

Under federal MMWA, the manufacturer pays the consumer's reasonable attorney fees when the consumer prevails. Ind. Code § 24-5-13 (Indiana Motor Vehicle Protection Act) also typically allows fee recovery. Lemonaid Firm works on contingency, no fees out of your pocket.

Can Lemonaid Firm represent me directly in Indiana?+
