California Privacy Laws — CCPA
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, if you live in California and your business relationship with us is mainly for personal, family, or household purposes, you may ask us about the information we release to other organizations for their marketing purposes. In accordance with your right to non-discrimination, we may offer you certain financial incentives permitted by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, CCPA) that can result in different prices, rates, or quality levels for the goods or services we provide. Any CCPA-permitted financial incentive we offer will reasonably relate to the value of your personal information, and we will provide written terms that describe clearly the nature of such an offer. Participation in a financial incentive program requires your prior opt-in consent, which you may revoke at any time.

Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
California consumers have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. Lemonaid Firm, PLLC does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, our use of certain advertising and analytics partners — including, without limitation, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Bing Ads, Simpli.Fi, TargetedGeofencing.com, and other advertising partners listed in this Privacy Policy — may involve the "sharing" of personal information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA.
You have the right to opt out of this sharing at any time. To exercise this right, you may:
- Use the Privacy Preferences widget on our website — the floating button available on every page — which connects to a Google-certified Consent Management Platform and lets you opt out of sale and sharing in real time;
- Email us at marketing@lemonaidfirm.com with "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in the subject line; or Configure your browser to send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We treat a recognized GPC signal as a valid opt-out request for the browser making the signal.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your right to opt out of sale or sharing.
Right to Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information
To the extent we use or disclose your sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those reasonably necessary to provide our services or as otherwise permitted by CCPA Regulations § 7027(m), you have the right to direct us to limit such use and disclosure.
To exercise this right, you may:
- Use the Privacy Preferences widget on our website (where this control is exposed by the Consent Management Platform); or Email us at marketing@lemonaidfirm.com with "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" in the subject line.
We may continue to use or disclose your sensitive personal information for the purposes permitted by CCPA Regulations § 7027(m) — for example, to provide the goods or services you requested, to detect security incidents or fraudulent activity, to ensure the physical safety of natural persons, for short-term transient use, to perform services on our behalf, or to verify or maintain the quality or safety of our services — even after you exercise this right.
Retention of Personal Information
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. The following describes our retention periods or the criteria we use to determine them, by category:
- Account and case-intake records: for the duration of the engagement and the period required to comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional-ethics obligations (typically the client-file retention period set by applicable state-bar rules — generally 5–7 years following closure of a matter, or longer where required by law).
- Contact and communication records: for the duration of the engagement or, where no engagement is formed, for up to 24 months from the last interaction.
- Marketing data (newsletter and opt-in records): until you withdraw consent or for 24 months from your last engagement with our marketing communications, whichever is sooner.
- Server and log data and security records: typically up to 18 months unless a longer period is required for security investigation, dispute resolution, or legal-hold purposes.
- Payment and financial records: for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and financial-reporting law.
When a retention period ends, we will delete or anonymize the information unless we are required by law to retain it longer.
Shine the Light
In addition to the rights discussed above, you have the right to request information from us regarding the manner in which we share certain personal information as defined by applicable statute with third parties and affiliates for their own direct marketing purposes.
To receive this information, send us a request using the contact details provided in this privacy policy. Requests must include "Privacy Rights Request" in the first line of the description and include your name, street address, city, state, and ZIP code.
Google & Microsoft Advertising & Enhanced Conversions
We use Google Ads cookies and conversion measurement to understand which ads lead to inquiries and to show relevant ads to you on other websites (remarketing). When you submit your details through our case-evaluation process, we may use Google's "enhanced conversions" feature: a securely hashed (irreversible) version of information such as your email address or phone number is generated in your browser and sent to Google so that a conversion can be matched to your earlier ad click. This hashed data is used only for conversion measurement. We use Microsoft Advertising (Bing) conversion tracking (UET) and Microsoft Clarity in the same way, and may send Microsoft a securely hashed version of information such as your email or phone number to match a conversion to an earlier ad click, used only for conversion measurement. You can manage these advertising cookies at any time using the cookie-preferences button on every page, opt out of personalized Google advertising at https://adssettings.google.com, and opt out of personalized Microsoft advertising at https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings.
