Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301) — a federal law that applies whenever a consumer product is sold with a written warranty. For vehicles, that means new vehicles with a manufacturer's warranty AND used vehicles still under a warranty (including CPO, extended, or original-warranty balance). The most important feature: when the consumer wins, the manufacturer pays the consumer's attorney fees.
